I know this feeling all too well because eloping changed my life, too.
When my partner and I chose to elope, the hardest part wasn’t the wedding…
it was choosing ourselves.
As chronic people-pleasers, saying “we’re doing this our way” felt uncomfortable… but we knew it was the right move.
I had a big vision for our day, intentional time together, meaningful activities, moments with our immediate family, and space to actually soak it all in.
But I made one huge mistake when planning our elopement.
I only hired my photographer for 4 hours.
I thought we could fit everything in… but instead, the day felt rushed and I didn’t feel as present as I wanted to. Some of the moments I cared about most weren’t documented simply because there wasn’t enough time.
I didn’t yet understand how much space a day like this really deserves.
Because when you finally choose yourselves,
something shifts.
It lights a fire that you can’t un-feel.
